Today we look back at Gypsy 'Top Shelf' Bae's (0-2) LFC debut at LFC 28: Sindependence Day. To say her debut didn’t go as anyone could have predicted would be an understatement. Bae was introduced first and was excited to take on fellow first timer Shay Golden [0-0] but when Golden was called to the ring she refused to leave the dressing room (stage fright) and Bae was left like a jilted bride at the alter. She could have simply taken the free win but in an act of inadvisable bravado she challenged anyone in the audience to take Golden’s place. Perhaps she didn’t know about the LFC rule allowing this and she certainly didn’t know her challenge would be accepted by reigning European Champ Jolene 'The Valkyrie' Hexx (21-6-1) who was in the audience planning to crash interim Prez Holly 'The Lotus' Mei's (16-5) interview for suspending her. Accepting Bae’s invitation was better revenge than Hexx expected and she happily stripped down for the fight. When the bell rang Bae came out with surprising aggression, perhaps hoping to overwhelm Hexx and steal a win in the opening seconds, but Hexx weathered the storm as she has countless times previously and used her superior skills to earn an easy first round win.
