Veronica 'The VP' Payne (1-0), a wrestler with hand-to-hand combat training covers all grounds in MMA. With a propensity to inflict violence. Veronica was kind enough to answer some questions for fans:

What does it mean to you to fight in the LFC?

The LFC is a combination of two things I love, violence and beauty, so it means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to show my skills and really make a name for myself in the LFC.

When and why did you start training?

I’ve been training since September 2011. I’ve always been into combat sports. I was always the “small one” that got picked on throughout my life; when I entered high school, I started Kickboxing and gradually started transitioning into the professional wrestling world as I got older, before finding myself in Hollywood studying hand-to-hand combat in the stunt world.

What martial arts are you trained in?

Kickboxing, hand-to-hand combat and professional wrestling.

What is your current training schedule like?

I wake up at 5:45 every morning to get my day started at the gym. I do around 45 minutes of cardio before my weight training. In the evenings, I’ve been boxing and polishing up my MMA skills for LFC 31.

What strengths do you bring to the league?

I’ve studied different styles, so I think being able to combine them all is a strength.

Favorite grappling technique?

Straight Armbar.

Favorite striking technique?

Cross Punch.

Can you describe yourself in one sentence?

I am a free-spirited woman who has found a way to beautifully balance inflicting pain and showing compassion.

What things are you involved in outside of the LFC?

When I’m not fighting, wrestling, or being a stuntwoman, I travel, hike, and find adventures.

If you weren’t a fighter, what would you be doing?

I’d be a Doctor of Psychiatry.

What is your most recent fashion-related purchase?

I recently purchased a Wednesday Addams costume at a Thrift Store. Pretty proud of that find.

What makes you laugh the most?

My parents’ dogs. They are the funniest (and best) dogs on the planet.

Do you have any heroes?

My Grandmother. Hands down!

What is the meaning of life to you?

Fulfilling your true purpose in life and accomplishing everything you want to – no matter what people say. Take the risks, and don’t let society tell you what to do.
